Two individuals who were previously the subjects of wanted appeals regarding burglary offences have been apprehended and formally charged.

Sorinel Oprea, aged 22, with no fixed abode, faces charges related to six house burglaries offences in Wakefield and Mirfield. The victims, all elderly residents, were residing in sheltered and assisted living premises.

Tony Evans, also known as Tony O’Brien, aged 29 and residing on Smithies Lane, Barnsley, has been charged with a burglary in Heckmondwike and two fraud offences in Batley and Liversedge.

Both men were held in custody and appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court yesterday.
