In this year’s Yorkshire In Bloom awards, over 15 places throughout the Bradford district are celebrating their achievements.

The most noteworthy entries in the district came from Bradford Council’s Cliffe Castle Museum and Park, and Keighley Town Hall Square, both of which were honoured with Platinum awards in the Parks and Gardens category. Similarly, Harold Park and Roberts Park both received Gold awards in the same category.

Esholt received a Silver Gilt in the Small Village category, while Wilsden was awarded a Silver Gilt in the Small Town category, also securing the top spot in its category.

Shipley was presented with a Silver award in the Town category, while Keighley received one in the Large Town Category.

In the Charitable Establishments category, the Northcliffe Environmental Enterprise Team (NEET) earned a Gold award.

Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre was granted Gold in the Large Business category. Additionally, both the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and Bradford Council’s Lister Park were honoured with Silver Gilt awards in the Tourist Attractions category. In the Medium Business category, Abbeydale Residential Home in Ilkley achieved a Gold award.

Wilsden Primary School received a Silver award in the Harrogate Flower Show Young People category, and the University of Bradford was granted a Silver Gilt in the Universities, Colleges, and FE Establishments category.

In the discretionary awards from Yorkshire In Bloom, Airedale Shopping Centre was a co-winner in the Best Commercial Entry Supporting the Community category, and the Northcliffe Environmental Enterprise Team (NEET) secured victory in the Best Supported Learning Project Award.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “A great amount of dedication goes into the upkeep of parks and greenspaces across the district and I’d like to congratulate all those who have played any part however small in all of the entries for this year’s Yorkshire In Bloom awards.”
