Keighley Cougars have made an exciting new addition to their squad, securing the services of the versatile rugby player, Oscar Thomas. The 29-year-old, who can play as Fullback, Stand-off, and scrum-half, will be with the team until the end of the 2023 season.

Thomas spent the recent season showcasing his skills in France’s Elite One Championship with Villeneuve XIII RLLG. Prior to his time there, he was part of Workington Town before the 2023 season commenced.

Having an impressive track record in the Championship, Thomas boasts a wealth of experience from his stints at various clubs, including Bradford Bulls, Sheffield Eagles, London Broncos, Whitehaven, and Workington Town.

Over the course of his career, Thomas has participated in more than 165 matches, making a significant impact with a total of 414 points to his name. This tally comprises 30 tries, 144 successful conversions, and six well-executed drop goals. His signing promises to be a valuable asset to Keighley Cougars in the upcoming season.

Director of Rugby, Jake Webster said “It’ll be good for Oscar to get back in the mix. We’ve given him an opportunity and it’s his to grab with both hands. His experience is something we need at the moment and I am looking forward to seeing how Oscar goes. We’ve made this signing before the August 4th deadline to ensure we have enough depth in the squad to carry us through to the end of the season.”

He is in contention for this weekends fixture in Toulouse.
