Bradford Council’s Libraries Service is gearing up to offer a plethora of family-friendly activities aimed at fostering book-sharing and cultivating a love for reading during the Easter School Holiday.

The libraries, which boast a treasure trove of thousands of books, are open for public use without any charge and will be hosting a variety of special events across the district.

Among the activities planned are storytelling sessions, rhyming sessions, and a medley of craft activities. These include crafting fluffy bunnies, decorating Easter eggs, sprucing up birdhouses, assembling Easter baskets, and nurturing Easter plant pots.

For those with a penchant for Easter Egg hunts, Menston Library is set to host one on Thursday, 21 March at 3.30pm, while Manningham Library will follow suit on Friday, 22 March at 1.30pm.

Eccleshill Library will offer an Easter Trail throughout the day on Saturday, 30 March, allowing visitors to drop in and participate at their leisure.

Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “We’re egg-cited to be welcoming families to our libraries over the Easter School Holidays. We’ve organised a great range of free activities which are not only fun but also encourage the enjoyment of reading, which in turn provides many benefits to learning, development and creativity in children.

“Our libraries provide a wide range of resources and services which support people from across our local communities, and residents of all ages can sign up for free library membership at any time.”
