The renowned WOW Foundation, recognized for orchestrating the most extensive festivals worldwide celebrating women, girls, and non-binary individuals, is embarking on a dynamic tour of Bradford district aboard a specially crafted bus.

In collaboration with Bradford Council, the WOW – Women of the World – Girls Festival will stage a captivating weekend takeover on March 2 and 3, followed by visits to local schools from March 4 to 6.

Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places Bradford Council said: “We are delighted to welcome the WOW tour to Bradford district. I encourage everyone to join the WOW Weekend Takeover as gender equity is discussed, inspiring everyone to make changes in their own communities through hands-on, creative activities.”

The festivities kick off on March 2 at Impressions Gallery and City Library, featuring a day of family activities until 4 pm, followed by an evening event tailored for teenagers and adults from 5 pm onwards.

On March 3, the tour collaborates with Keighley Creative in Keighley, offering creative activities celebrating local women, girls, and non-binary individuals.

The WOW Girls Festival Bus will make a stop at a school in Shipley on March 4, providing pupils with activities in its fully equipped recording studio.

March 5 sees the bus visiting a school in East Bowling in the morning, followed by an afternoon session with MAPA Cultural Arts Centre, where a mural celebrating local identity will be designed and created.

The Bradford tour concludes on March 6, with visits to local schools in the morning and an afternoon session focusing on women and girls in sport. The Sedbergh Sports and Leisure Centre will host a panel discussion and taster sessions, along with WOW Speed Mentoring involving students from Bradford College and the University of Bradford.

For those passionate about gender equity, creativity, and envisioning positive changes in their communities, the WOW Bus awaits on March 2-3 to facilitate discussions on the issues that matter most.
