Police probing a collision in Rawdon that resulted in severe injuries for two women are urging witnesses to come forward and provide any dashcam or CCTV recordings.

The incident, which occurred at 11:58 am on Thursday, 15th February, involved a head-on crash between a silver Mercedes Vito van and a blue Ford Fiesta on the A65 in Rawdon.

Investigations revealed that the van had previously collided with a scaffolding wagon, causing minor damage, just before the main collision.

Both the driver and passenger of the Ford Fiesta sustained significant injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers from the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any part of the incident. They are also urging motorists who were in the vicinity at the time to review their dashcam footage, and for local residents and businesses to check their CCTV systems.
