In the aftermath of a firearm’s discharge in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, the police have charged 20-year-old Cole Brooke from Manor Street, Huddersfield. The incident occurred on Dunford Street on Friday, 16th February.

Brooke appeared before magistrates on Saturday and has been remanded into custody until his scheduled appearance at Leeds Crown Court on 22nd March. Six other males, apprehended on suspicion of firearms offences related to the incident, have been released on bail pending further investigations.

In a recent development, a 21-year-old male from the Huddersfield area has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Specialist officers are actively conducting inquiries in Meltham, Huddersfield, and Holmfirth, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Senior Investigation Officer Chief Inspector Matt Holdsworth of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) said: “We are still investigating the wider circumstances surrounding the discharge of this firearm and would therefore continue to appeal to people to come forward with any information or footage they may have in connection with it.”
