Police in Batley are reaching out to the public for information following a severe assault on a man within a residence.

The Kirklees District CID is seeking witnesses who may have details about an incident at Ealing Court that occurred overnight between Monday, January 1, and Tuesday, January 2.

The assault transpired between 11.30 pm on Monday and 12.30 am on Tuesday when two white male suspects entered a house on the street, assaulting a man in his 30s with a bladed weapon.

The victim sustained a serious but non-life-threatening wound to his left arm and was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Detectives are treating the incident as a targeted attack and are eager to speak with individuals who observed or captured footage of suspicious male behaviour outside the house late on January 1 or witnessed their departure on January 2.
