Bradford Royal Infirmary is set to welcome a burst of joy as renowned pantomime figure Billy Pearce, known for his role as Buttons, plans a delightful visit to the children’s ward to sprinkle some New Year magic.
Currently gracing the stage as part of this year’s Cinderella pantomime at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre, Billy will be taking a brief hiatus from his performances on Thursday, January 11 for this special visit.
Joining him will be a stellar lineup, including Samantha Giles, Emmerdale star in the role of the Wicked Stepmother, John Whaite, the famed baker and Strictly Come Dancing finalist portraying Dandini, Dale Mathurin as Prince Charming, Sarah Pearson as Cinderella, Phil Hitchcock embodying Magician Baron Hardup, and Wendy Somerville along with Larissa Alexandrovnia as The Wicked Stepsisters.
This heartwarming initiative has been orchestrated by Bradford Hospitals Charity, with Sharon Milner, the Charity’s Director, expressing gratitude, “We are very grateful to Billy and his fellow cast members for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit our young patients.”
Milner continued, “This has become an annual tradition and the children and their families – as well as staff – really look forward to the visit as there is always lots of fun and laughter guaranteed. It’s lovely to see the magic of pantomime brought to the hospital. The Alhambra is very generous in bringing gifts for the children too.”
