A former officer of West Yorkshire Police, Claudine Binns, aged 49, is set to face charges in connection with a grave sexual offence. Binns has been accused of sexual assault by penetration and is scheduled to make an appearance at Bradford Magistrates Court on 8 January. The alleged incident occurred during her off-duty hours.
Binns, who held the rank of detective inspector in the Bradford district at the time of her arrest in May 2022, was promptly suspended from her duties. Subsequently, she opted for retirement from West Yorkshire Police.
The upcoming court proceedings will shed light on the nature of the charges brought against Binns and mark a significant development in this case. The former police officer’s legal journey is anticipated to unfold in the judicial setting of Bradford Magistrates Court early next year.
