A shocking crime has seen a Bradford man and woman sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 65-year-old Stephen Kershaw. Kershaw was reported missing on 13 September after a concerned family member, who hadn’t seen him, raised the alarm. Tragically, Kershaw was discovered lifeless in his bedroom alcove at his residence on 16 September.

Ian Mitchell, 35, and Sarah Pearson, 23, both residing on Shetcliffe Lane, pleaded guilty to charges of murder and fraud. The disturbing case unfolded at Bradford Crown Court, where the duo received their sentences on Friday, 19 January.

Mitchell, handed a life sentence, must serve a minimum term of 22 years, with a deduction of 483 days for time served. Pearson, also sentenced to life, faces a minimum term of 19 years, with the same deduction for time served.
