The BBC has officially announced the imminent launch of the second series of Kin on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The gripping Irish crime drama, produced by BRON Studios (known for Joker) and Headline Pictures (renowned for The Man in the High Castle), has been secured by the BBC from FIFTH SEASON (responsible for Killing Eve, Severance, Tokyo Vice). The upcoming season promises to captivate audiences once again with its character-driven narrative, featuring a stellar cast that includes Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Clare Dunne (The Last Duel), Francis Magee (The Witcher), Sam Keeley (The Cured), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), and Yasmin Seky.

The acclaimed eight-part series delves deeper into the saga of the Kinsella family, now reigning supreme in the Dublin crime scene. However, their ascendancy has attracted the attention of a more formidable adversary than Eamon Cunningham, leading to fractured family ties marked by suspicion, distrust, and resentment.

Head of Programme Acquisition Sue Deeks says: “All I will say is if you found the first series exciting and engrossing, just wait until you see the twists and turns in series two!”

Jennifer Ebell, EVP of EMEA Sales and Acquisitions at FIFTH SEASON, adds: “The Kinsellas are back and the stakes are higher than ever. Season two of this family crime drama is explosive and we are pleased the BBC joins the growing number of our international partners.”
