A 39-year-old woman, Hayley Macfarlane from Barnsley, is set to appear in court in Leeds, facing charges related to the death of her five-month-old daughter, Evelyn. The alleged incident occurred in Woodhouse Moor Park. Macfarlane has been accused of murder and has been remanded, with her court appearance scheduled at Leeds Magistrates Court today.

On Wednesday, 20th December, at 5:44 pm, a woman reported to the police about a baby in a critical condition at Woodhouse Moor park, specifically at the junction of Clarendon Road and Moorland Road in Leeds. Officers responded promptly, and the infant was rushed to the hospital by ambulance for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, she was declared dead shortly thereafter.

A forensic examination scene was established, and detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team spearheaded the investigation.
