Police are requesting the assistance of witnesses in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Leeds retailer yesterday evening (6/12).
Leeds District CID is seeking information from individuals who may have witnessed or have knowledge about a robbery at a B&M store located on Tulip Street within the City South Retail Park in Leeds.
The incident occurred at approximately 8 pm the previous night when two individuals wearing masks entered the premises and proceeded to assault the cash registers with a hammer.
Money was taken from the registers, and both suspects left the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the staff was understandably distressed by the incident.
The perpetrators were described as wearing dark clothing and face coverings. Leeds CID is actively conducting investigations into the matter.
Detective Inspector Al Cheyne of Leeds CID said; “We are investigating this robbery which would clearly have been a frightening and upsetting experience for staff members inside, and are appealing for witnesses”.
“We know that two were involved in this offence having left the scene on foot and would also like to speak to anyone who saw the males leaving the retail park.
“Anyone who can assist our enquiries is asked to contact Leeds District CID on 101 referencing crime number 13230674881.
“Information can also be given online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livchat or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
