Decorating the tree at the centre and Bradford South MP Judith Cummins

Young individuals from Holme Wood, alongside Bradford Council’s Youth Service and Neighbourhoods Teams, have infused the estate with festive spirit by establishing a Christmas garden at the TFD Community Centre.

The team, empowered by a £200 contribution from Ridesafe Motorcycle School, utilized the funds to procure decorations and lights. The Christmas garden now stands adorned with fully trimmed Christmas trees, lights, tinsel, and baubles.

Situated on the Holme Wood estate, the TFD Centre functions as a community hub, encompassing youth services, a library, gym, sports centre, and hosting various community activities. Recently, the garden underwent a transformation facilitated by the Probation Service’s Community Payback Scheme.

Cllr Abdul Jabar, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, said: “The young people who have helped to create this garden set a great example in doing something really positive for their community. Thanks also to Ridesafe for their generous donation to make this possible.”
