The initial trailer for “Murder is Easy” has been unveiled, set to premiere on BBC iPlayer at 6 am on Wednesday, 27 December, followed by a broadcast on BBC One at 9 pm that same evening, and the second episode airing the subsequent night.

“Murder is Easy” stands as a significant new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel, produced by Mammoth Screen (known for “The Serpent” and “World on Fire”) and Agatha Christie Limited (“And Then There Were None,” “Death on the Nile”) for BBC One and iPlayer, as part of a co-commission in collaboration with BritBox International. The two-part thriller, scripted by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre and directed by Meenu Gaur (“Zinda Bhaag,” “World on Fire”), features a 30-second trailer showcasing Fitzwilliam (David Jonsson) encountering Miss Pinkerton (Penelope Wilton) on a train to London. She informs him about a murderer on the loose in the tranquil English village of Wychwood under Ashe. When Miss Pinkerton is discovered dead en route to Scotland Yard, Fitzwilliam journeys to Wychwood to investigate, encountering various residents, including Bridget (Morfydd Clark), Lord Whitfield (Tom Riley), Major Horton (Douglas Henshall), Dr Thomas (Mathew Baynton), Reverend Humbleby (Mark Bonnar), Mrs Humbleby (Nimra Bucha), Rose Humbleby (Phoebe Licorish), and Mrs Pierce (Tamzin Outhwaite).

The two-part series, “Murder is Easy” (2×60’), is a joint effort between Mammoth Screen (a part of ITV Studios) and Agatha Christie Limited, co-commissioned by the BBC and BritBox International. Executive producers include Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre, James Prichard for Agatha Christie Limited, James Gandhi, and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC, along with Reemah Sakaan, Stephen Nye, and Jess O’Riordan for BritBox International.
