A seventh member of a gang engaged in the smuggling of over 15 tons of cocaine into the UK, concealed within pallets of frozen chicken, has been sentenced to jail. Brandon Maan, 24 years old and residing in Churchbank Way, Dewsbury, was part of the criminal network involved in a nationwide plot to import and distribute substantial quantities of the Class A drug, valued at approximately £1.59 billion.

Appearing before Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing yesterday, Maan, who had previously admitted guilt to the charge of conspiracy to supply cocaine, a Class A controlled substance, received a 16-year prison term.

This sentencing follows an investigation conducted by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU).
