A family-run care group based in Yorkshire has recently made significant new appointments and promotions across its three nursing and care homes in Nab Wood and Steeton.

The Czajka Care Group has named Vicky Stainburn as the new registered manager at Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton. Vicky, who grew up in Bingley and became a qualified nurse in 2007, previously managed a group home before joining the Czajka Care Group.

Solmaz Bahadori-Ridge has been appointed as the registered manager at Staveley Birkleas, the leading specialist home for younger people with physical disabilities in the North of England. Solmaz is a qualified Registered Learning Disability (RNLD) nurse with 21 years of experience in the care sector. With a background as both a deputy manager and manager, as well as a training provider, Solmaz brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the team of 112 at Staveley Birkleas.

Nurses Imogene Tempest-Mitchell and Deborah Holgate have both been promoted to unit managers at Staveley Birkleas. Additionally, the Czajka Care Group has welcomed five new recruits from overseas. Nicola Parker has also received a promotion to senior manager, where she will assume increased responsibilities across all three homes. Nicola has been a valued member of the Czajka Care Group team for nearly three years.

At Brookfield Care Home, Julieann Fitton has taken on the role of registered manager, and two dedicated team members, Helen Larkin and Ada Przykaza, have been promoted to joint deputy managers. Helen and Ada have collectively contributed over 10 years of service to the Czajka Care Group.

Ada initiated her career in care as a care assistant and has steadily progressed through the ranks over the past six years, benefiting from valuable support and training from the Czajka Care Group. Helen embarked on her care journey at the age of 16 while simultaneously pursuing a BTEC in social care. She has acquired more responsibilities and qualifications, demonstrating dedication to advancing her career.

Managing director, Konrad Czajka, said: “One of the things that makes our homes so special is our team. We are lucky to have so many dedicated and professional people, many of whom have worked with us for decades. Another stand out feature is the chance for career progression through our in-house training, which offers plenty of opportunities for promotion.”

The Czajka Care Group owns and manages Brookfield Care Home and Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home, both located in Nab Wood near Shipley, as well as Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton. The company also offers a selection of purpose-built retirement houses and apartments at Currergate Mews in Steeton and Fairmount Park in Nab Wood.

The care group has invested millions in its flagship Fairmount Park development, constructing eight impressive new purpose-built retirement houses and apartments. As part of these plans, Brookfield Care Home is also undergoing significant extension and improvement works.

Additionally, the Czajka Care Group is expanding its Currergate Nursing Home, committing £1.5 million to the development and refurbishment of this popular home. Currently, Currergate Nursing Home accommodates 34 fully occupied rooms, and this development will add 15 new en-suite bedrooms.
