Strictly Come Dancing, produced by BBC Studios, is set to make a festive return to the Ballroom, magically transformed into a winter wonderland, for an enchanting Christmas special featuring six new celebrity contestants. The special, aiming to captivate audiences with a magical fusion of dance, glitter, and festive cheer, will see these celebrities vie for the title of Christmas Champion 2023.

The six couples, each performing a festive routine, hope to impress the judging panel consisting of Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Head Judge Shirley Ballas, and the voting studio audience. The burning question remains: who will emerge as the shining star of the evening and lift the coveted Christmas trophy?

Actress Tillie Amartey has been unveiled as the fourth celebrity in the Christmas lineup for 2023, set to be partnered with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Neil Jones.

Tillie boasts an impressive CV, having worked on shows for Sky, CBBC, and Channel 5. Her notable roles include portraying “Stace Neville” in BBC One’s hit series Waterloo Road, featuring in CBBC’s Almost Never, Channel 5’s The Teacher alongside Sheridan Smith, and delivering a compelling performance as “Marnie” in Jimmy McGovern’s Moving On.

Tillie, who made her debut film appearance in David Walliams’ TV adaptation of Ratburger, is not only recognized for her acting prowess but also for her flair in presenting, having hosted shows on both CITV and CBBC.

Tillie Amartey says: “My family have been avid fans of Strictly since forever so no pressure! The nerves are real, but I am SUPER excited to bring some much-needed joy to the telly while I shimmy and sparkle my two left feet through the Christmas special!”

The fifth celebrity to be revealed is former England International and current professional Rugby Union player Danny Cipriani, who will be paired with Jowita Przystał.

Danny Cipriani says: “I’ve always enjoyed the concept of Strictly Come Dancing, it wasn’t something I ever thought I’d do. After addressing my own ideas and beliefs, I am very much looking forward to expressing myself through dance with no limitations. Strictly brings joy to everyone’s living rooms, being a part of that for Christmas Day will be special.”

The sixth and final celebrity announced is Singer-Songwriter Keisha Buchanan, a founding member of the platinum-selling girl group Sugababes.

Paired with Gorka Márquez, Keisha, who recently received the Music Week Women in Music Awards 2023 ‘Inspirational Artist’ of the year, expressed her excitement about taking part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, stating, “I am so excited to be taking part, and over Christmas too, my favourite time of the year! I am looking forward to learning some new moves and embracing the dancefloor!”
