A man from Keighley has been sentenced to two years in prison after he was apprehended following a live Facebook operation conducted by an online child abuse group.
David Houldsworth, aged 58, residing on Skipton Road, confessed to two charges: engaging in sexual communication with a child and encouraging a child to partake in sexual activities.
He was incarcerated at Bradford Crown Court on 8th November for a period of two years, ordered to register as a sex offender for a decade, and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order upon his release.
Detective Constable Adam Flaxington from Bradford Districts Policing Online investigations Team said; “This was a lengthy two-year investigation and I welcome the guilty plea and sentence the courts have handed down.
“In Houldsworth’s conversations, he demonstrated clear intent to commit sexual offending against young children, and it is fortunate the person he thought he was speaking with wasn’t a child.”
