Additional arrests have taken place following a serious injury sustained by a man in Pontefract during the early hours of Sunday morning, specifically on the 19th of November.
Currently in custody are two men, aged 26 and 29, who have been apprehended on suspicion of causing injury with intent. Meanwhile, two individuals, aged 17 and 18, previously detained on suspicion of causing severe harm through dangerous driving, have been questioned and subsequently released on bail.
The man who sustained injuries is in a critical condition and remains under medical care in the hospital.
Authorities are urging individuals with information or who may have witnessed any part of the incident to come forward. The incident unfolded at 4:30 am on Sunday when officers discovered the injured man on A639 Front Street in Pontefract.
Preliminary investigations at the scene indicate that the injured individual had engaged in a confrontation with another male, ultimately leading to his presence on the road. Subsequently, he was struck by a black Ford Fiesta, which was travelling alongside a white Seat Ibiza away from the Pontefract town centre.
Those with dashcams installed in their vehicles, who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident, are requested to review their footage for any relevant information.
