Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards has joined the lineup of Dancing on Ice. Swapping his skis for ice skates, Eddie will be hitting the ice alongside his fellow celebrities as they begin training for the 2024 series.
Eddie said, “It’s bittersweet as whilst I’m delighted to be taking part in the new series I’m gutted for Stephen and wish him a speedy recovery. Dancing on Ice is a show I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a challenge I think I’m going to relish!”
Eddie is stepping in after Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb had to pull out of the show due to an injury he sustained during training.
Eddie will be joining the roster of celebrities for 2024, which includes World Champion Boxer Ricky Hatton MBE, actress Claire Sweeney, actress and singer Hannah Spearritt, West End star Amber Davies, and Olympic Champion and presenter Greg Rutherford MBE. Also in the mix are TV personality Miles Nazaire, comedian and writer Lou Sanders, actor Ricky Norwood, Broadcaster and DJ Adele Roberts, actor Ryan Thomas, and Emmerdale’s Roxy Shahidi.
Dancing on Ice, created and produced by Lifted Entertainment, will make its return to ITV1, STV, and ITVX in 2024 with a fresh cast. Twelve celebrities are gearing up for the ultimate challenge as they glide across the ice each week, performing live in hopes of impressing both the judging panel and viewers watching at home.
Returning for an exciting new series, the premier ice show promises even more glitz, glamour, and jaw-dropping performances as the celebrities push themselves to master this perilous discipline. But who possesses the skill and determination to conquer the steps and claim the trophy at the end of the series?
