A man is set to appear before magistrates today, facing charges of murdering a woman in Dewsbury.

Wahib Albaradan, aged 35, residing on Dearnley Street, Dewsbury, will stand before Leeds Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 22, accused of the murder of Salam Alshara, aged 27.

The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is actively investigating the murder that occurred at a property on Dearnley Street during the evening of Sunday, November 20.

Investigators are urging individuals familiar with both parties to come forward and provide information.

Detective Inspector Guy Shackleton, leading the investigation, stated, “We are persistently pursuing leads in Salam’s murder. As part of our inquiries, we would like to speak to anyone acquainted with them.”

“The couple, believed to have arrived in the UK around 2020, settled in the Dewsbury area in 2021 with their four children.”

“We are conducting various inquiries to locate extended family members, and I appeal to anyone able to assist in these efforts to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team at 101, referencing police crime number 13230642219.”
