Bradford (Park Avenue) has officially announced the loan acquisition of midfielder Connor Shanks from National League North team Spennymoor Town.

Shanks commenced his football journey with Huddersfield Town as a youth player before transferring to Bradford City in 2017.

In June 2020, he received recognition by being included in the League Football Education’s “The 11” List.

Connor transitioned into professional football in July 2020 by inking a one-year contract with Bradford City.

He made his inaugural appearance for City in the EFL Trophy on September 8, 2020, in a match against Doncaster during the group stages, which ended in a 0-0 draw (with a 4-1 loss in penalties).

Upon the conclusion of his contract in June 2021, he departed from Bradford City and returned to Huddersfield Town in August 2021.

Shanks left an indelible mark on the Nuneaton Borough management when he netted a goal and provided an assist in Huddersfield’s u21s Cup encounter against Birmingham City, earning him a loan move in September 2021. (View the goal here!)

He clinched the Player of the Month award for September 2021 due to his exceptional performances for Nuneaton in both the Birmingham Senior Cup and Southern League Central Premier Division, securing 49% of the votes.

On January 19, 2023, Shanks’ contract with Huddersfield was terminated, and he joined Spennymoor Town two days later.

During the 22/23 season, he made 20 appearances for the Moors, scoring on his debut against Darlington (View here) and delivering a last-minute equaliser against Scarborough Athletic (View here), which led to an extension of his tenure into the Summer of 2023. He has continued his form this season, accumulating 6 appearances as of November 2.

Shanks is eligible for selection in Saturday’s match against Basford United.
