The BBC has unveiled a sneak peek of “Murder is Easy,” a significant new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s novel produced by Mammoth Screen (known for “The Serpent” and “World on Fire”) and Agatha Christie Limited (“And Then There Were None” and “Death on the Nile”), in collaboration with BritBox International. “Murder is Easy” will be coming soon to both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
This two-part thriller has been adapted by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre and directed by Meenu Gaur (renowned for “Zinda Bhaag” and “World on Fire”). FIFTH SEASON will oversee international sales.

The set of fresh images showcases David Jonsson (from “Industry” and “Rye Lane”) as Fitzwilliam, along with Morfydd Clark (known for “Lord of the Rings” and “Saint Maud”) as Bridget; Penelope Wilton (“Downton Abbey” and “After Life”) as Miss Pinkerton, Tom Riley (“The Nevers” and “Ill Behaviour”) as Lord Whitfield, Douglas Henshall (“Shetland” and “In Plain Sight”) as Major Horton, Mathew Baynton (“Ghosts” and “Wonka”) as Dr Thomas, and Mark Bonnar (“World on Fire” and “Guilt”) as Reverend Humbleby.
The cast of “Murder is Easy” also includes Sinead Matthews (“Hullraisers” and “The Crown”) as Miss Waynflete, Nimra Bucha (“Polite Society” and “Ms Marvel”) as Mrs Humbleby, Tamzin Outhwaite (“The Tower” and “Ridley Road”) as Mrs Pierce, Kathryn Howden (“River City” and “Six Four”) as Mrs Carter, Jon Pointing (“Big Boys” and “Plebs”) as Rivers, Demmy Ladipo (“Dreaming Whilst Black” and “The Last Tree”) as Jimmy Amaike, Gloria Obianyo (“Good Omens” and “Mission Impossible”) as Ngozi Ude, and Phoebe Licorish in her screen debut as Rose.

Set in 1954 England, the story follows Fitzwilliam (David Jonsson) on a train bound for London, where he encounters Miss Pinkerton (Penelope Wilton). She informs him that a killer is at large in the quiet English village of Wychwood under Ashe.
While the villagers dismiss the deaths as accidents, Miss Pinkerton is convinced otherwise. When she is later found dead en route to Scotland Yard, Fitzwilliam is compelled to track down the murderer before they can strike again. Because for a certain type of person, murder comes easily…

The filming for “Murder is Easy” took place in Scotland. The series will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK, and will be available on BritBox International’s streaming service in the US, Canada, and South Africa.
