YUNGBLUD, the music sensation, is set to deliver an exclusive Live Lounge performance tomorrow (Wednesday 18th October) from his hometown of Doncaster, as a highlight of Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month 2023. This marks the very first occurrence of a Radio 1 Live Lounge event in the South Yorkshire city.
The special performance will take place at an undisclosed venue in Doncaster and will be aired live on Radio 1 and BBC Sounds at 12pm with Rickie Melvin and Charlie. YUNGBLUD will present one of his original songs and an unexpected cover, alongside an extended session for Live Lounge Extra, which will air at 6pm on Radio 1’s Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
YUNGBLUD says: “I’m so excited to be playing Radio 1 Live Lounge in my hometown in a place that has been so integral to my discovery of music. I played my first gig around here. It just feels right. Never forget where you came from. I’m so excited!”
Radio 1’s Live Lounge consistently draws some of the music industry’s most prominent figures, boasting a roster that includes Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Jay Z. Previous Live Lounge tracks from artists like Miley Cyrus, 30 Seconds To Mars, Dua Lipa, and Bruno Mars have amassed over 50 million views each on Radio 1’s YouTube channel.
