The police, who have been investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred last month, have now disclosed the identity of the unfortunate woman who lost her life.

Angela Carney, aged 65 and residing in Cleckheaton, was travelling down Westcliffe Road at the time of the incident.

In an official statement, Angela’s family conveyed their heartfelt sentiments:

“Our dear mum, also loving nana, great nana, sister and auntie was tragically taken away from us, no words can describe the devastation this has caused.

“Angela was a kind & loving soul whose door was always open to anyone; she will be sadly missed by her family & everyone who knew her.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank family & friends for all the support, the passers-by who stopped to help her, and the emergency services.”

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and officers are urging anyone with information pertaining to the collision, which transpired around 5pm on Tuesday, 26th September, on the A643, Westgate, at the junction of Westcliffe Road, to get in touch with the police.

Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from individuals in possession of CCTV or dashcam footage who were in the vicinity at the time of the collision.

The driver of the black Nissan Navara, which was towing a trailer carrying a white 4×4 vehicle and was involved in the collision, stayed at the scene and has cooperated with the officers in their inquiry.
