Ray Chapman Motors, based in Yorkshire, has been honoured with the Customer Experience award at the prestigious national Auto Trader Retailer Awards 2023. The dealership, with locations in Bradford, Huddersfield, Malton, and York, emerged victorious over approximately 13,500 automotive retailers across the UK to secure the Customer Experience Award (Over 100) at the 16th annual Auto Trader Retailer Awards.

The winners of the Customer Experience Award were determined through an extensive evaluation of customer interactions across various digital platforms, including email, phone, and online messaging, as part of the UK’s most extensive automotive mystery shopping exercise.

The Auto Trader Retailer Awards, now in their 16th year, commend the finest achievements in automotive retailing. These are the brands that are setting new standards across the industry, from digital retailing to a steadfast dedication to exceptional customer service.

This year, around 1500 of Auto Trader’s top-performing retail partners were shortlisted to a mere 63 finalists spanning nine distinct award categories. Ultimately, only 22 emerged as winners. Their selection was based on a thorough analysis of millions of data points, impartial evaluation by a panel of experts, and the results of the largest consumer mystery shopping programme focused on auto retailers in the UK. Consequently, the winners stand among the top 1% of Auto Trader’s retail partners and are rightly acknowledged as the cream of the crop.

The ceremony for this year took place at the esteemed London venue, 8 Northumberland Avenue, just off Trafalgar Square. The event was hosted by Auto Trader Editorial Director Erin Baker and Sales Director Matthew Schofield, in collaboration with Auto Trader’s YouTube Director and former Top Gear presenter, Rory Reid.
