Detectives are seeking information following an assault involving a machete that left a man seriously injured in Leeds on the night of 28/09.
At 7:14 pm, a report was received by the police regarding a man being stabbed in Top Moor Side, Holbeck.
Armed officers were dispatched to the location, with air support from a police helicopter. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was discovered in Recreation Place. He received initial first aid from officers before being transported to the hospital for treatment of a serious leg injury, later confirmed as non-life threatening.
Preliminary investigations suggest that he was assaulted by a masked assailant wielding a machete, who pursued him into the Kasa convenience store.
A substantial cordon was established, encompassing the vicinity of the incident and the spot where the victim was found, for thorough forensic examination. This cordon has since been lifted.
