The police are requesting assistance from potential witnesses following a severe accident involving a cyclist and a motorbike in Castleford, where the motorbike did not stop after the collision.
The Major Collision and Enquiry Team is keen to speak with anyone who observed the incident, possesses relevant information, or has footage of the event on Queens Park Drive, Castleford, which occurred on Tuesday, October 17.
At approximately 10:10 pm, an unidentified motorbike collided with a man riding a pushbike. The motorbike is thought to have been travelling away from Fryston Road, while the cyclist was headed towards it.
The male cyclist, aged 55, sustained significant head injuries. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for further treatment and is currently reported to be in critical condition as of today (Wednesday).
The motorbike involved did not stop at the scene, and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
