Chloe Parech, a Project Worker, and her apprentice, Ellie Parker-Smith, from the Healthy Minds in Bradford Project, attended a Youth Networking Event at Number 10 Downing Street last week.
The All Star apprentices collaborated with Bradford Museums to create the new ‘Calm’ gallery installation at Bradford Council’s Cartwright Hall. This involved designing the gallery layout and curating the displayed artwork. The project secured funding through Arts Council England, supporting a programme aimed at fostering an inclusive visitor experience and involving young people from the local community in innovative ways.
They received an invitation to the Youth Networking Event at the Prime Minister’s official residence, where they were joined by Jill Iredale from the Bradford Council’s Museums and Galleries Service.
Chloe and Ellie said: “We had a great time being hosted by the brilliant young people who are working with the Government Art Collection. We also had a tour of Number 10, a talk from an artist and best of all, Larry the cat greeted us, and we also got to meet the Prime Minister’s dog too!”
