RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is set to grace your screens once again very soon, as Mama Ru makes her triumphant return alongside a dazzling new lineup of glamazon queens for an all-new series of this award-winning competitive reality show. You can catch all the excitement on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
In the anticipation of this fabulous new series, we are delighted to introduce this year’s nine special guest judges who will join Drag Icon and the ultimate judge, RuPaul Charles, in the quest to crown the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar.
Each week, the queens will face challenges designed to push their drag skills to the limit. While the final verdict rests with Mama Ru and her loyal Drag Race UK companions, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton, we’re thrilled to reveal that a cadre of celebrity Drag Race enthusiasts will also be partaking in the merriment, contributing to the deliberations over the queens’ fate.
This year, our esteemed celebrity guest judges are:
Aisling Bea, the comedian, actor, and writer.
Alexandra Burke, a pop star, stage performer, and singer-songwriter.
Cush Jumbo, an actor, OBE recipient, and the sharp-witted legal eagle from The Good Wife.
Daphne Guinness, a designer, actor, producer, and musician.
Joel Dommett, an actor, comedian, and host of the highly anticipated BBC TV series Survivor.
Kristen McMenamy, a supermodel and London fashion icon.
Sophie-Ellis Bextor, a pop icon and singer-songwriter.
Suranne Jones, a BAFTA Award-winning stage, film, and television actor.
Yasmin Finney, is renowned for her role as Elle in Heartstopper and is soon to make her debut on Doctor Who.
As always, there will be a slew of fabulous celebrity cameos as the competition unfolds, and this year’s cameos include:
Vogue royalty Edward Enninful OBE, visits the Werk Room with Ru to offer fashion advice ahead of the iconic design challenge. He even brings a furry companion as an extra special treat.
The Snatch Game, one of Drag Race’s most iconic challenges, will feature celebrity players Carol Vorderman and Alexandra Burke, bringing their best Blankety Blanks to the stage.
Beloved Strictly Star, Karen Hauer, will lend her stellar choreography and coaching skills, patience, and charm to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as she assists the queens in tackling the formidable Rusical challenge.
And, last but not least, choreographer to the stars, Claudimar Neto, will guide the finalists through an all-singing, all-dancing number for the Finale Eleganza Extravaganza.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is commissioned by Fiona Campbell, Controller for Youth Audiences at BBC Three, and Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for World of Wonder are Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, RuPaul Charles, Bruce McCoy, and Johnni Javier. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Ruby Kuraishe.
