The police, who are investigating a large altercation in the centre of Leeds, have released CCTV images of six individuals they wish to identify.

Around 5.20am on Sunday, September 3, Leedswatch CCTV personnel alerted officers to the incident involving several males on Briggate.

Officers from Leeds District and British Transport Police were dispatched to the scene, leading to the apprehension of five males on suspicion of affray. They were subsequently released pending further investigation.

A British Transport Police officer was assaulted during the altercation, resulting in one of the detainees being charged with assaulting an emergency worker.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and the authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying any of the six males depicted in the CCTV images.
