Channel 4’s factual drama, “Partygate,” revolves around two fictional Special Advisors, Grace Greenwood (played by Georgie Henley – known for The Chronicles of Narnia) and Annabel D’acre (portrayed by Ophelia Lovibond – from W1A). The narrative is grounded in extensive research of actual events within Downing Street. Additionally, impressionist Jon Culshaw will make a guest appearance, lending his voice to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The series will unveil the inner workings through compelling re-enactments seamlessly woven with archived news footage and documentary interviews. It will vividly portray the unfolding horrors of the Covid pandemic nationwide, juxtaposed with scenes of Number 10 staff indulging in a series of alcohol-fuelled parties.
Joining Culshaw, “Partygate” will feature a talented ensemble cast including Phil Daniels (known for Quadrophenia), Rebecca Humphries (from Ten Percent), Hugh Skinner (of The Windsors), Charlotte Richie (of Ghosts), Craig Parkinson (from Line of Duty), Tom Durant-Pritchard (of The Windsors), Anthony Calf (from New Tricks), Alice Lowe (of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), Kimberly Nixon (of Fresh Meat), Alice Orr-Ewing (from This Is Going to Hurt), Naomi Battrick (from Jamestown), and Edwin Flay.
Produced by the creators of the BAFTA-winning dramas “Killed by My Debt,” “The Left Behind,” and “Murdered by My Father,” “Partygate” will juxtapose the revelry within the heart of the nation’s political power with the struggles and sacrifices faced by the rest of the country.
