The police in Batley are seeking witnesses following an attempted robbery by two males. The Kirklees District Crime Team is eager to hear from anyone with information that could aid their investigation into the incident on Transvaal Terrace, which occurred on Monday, September 18, between 3:50 pm and 4:00 pm.
During this time frame, two suspects on a bicycle approached a teenage male walking along Transvaal Terrace towards the Wilton Park Greenway. They brandished knives and demanded the victim’s phone. However, upon spotting a male member of the public approaching, they fled the scene without obtaining anything.
The suspects were both described as white, with one being approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and the other around 5 feet 7 inches. They were both wearing balaclavas.
Officers are particularly interested in speaking with the individual who intervened, as well as any other witnesses or individuals who observed the suspects fleeing the vicinity.
