Two individuals have been sentenced to imprisonment following the confiscation of cannabis valued at nearly £700,000 from a location in Leeds.

Marikseio Mucaj, aged 31, and Fatjon Mustaraj, aged 19, both of no fixed abode, were each sentenced to two years in custody at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday, after they pleaded guilty to the production of cannabis.

On July 9th of this year, officers from the Inner North West Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) executed a warrant relating to the misuse of drugs at a property in Cross Green.

The officers successfully gained entry to a secured warehouse located in Felnex Close, where they discovered evidence of cannabis cultivation.

Further investigations at the scene resulted in the apprehension of Mucaj and Mustaraj, who were subsequently charged with cannabis production.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of £677,250 was seized from the premises, which was suspected to be under the control of an organised crime group operating within the city.
