West Yorkshire Police has recently been contacted by First Bus, who alerted them to incidents involving youths causing vandalism to buses within the Bierley locality.
The most recent event transpired on Thursday, 24th August, at 11:30pm on Burnham Avenue. During this incident, barriers were placed across the road to obstruct the bus’s path.
Additionally, bricks were hurled at the bus, resulting in damage to nine windows. Fortunately, the bus was not in service and was en route back to the depot at the time.
The driver managed to escape unharmed. A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said, “This type of misconduct is wholly unacceptable, and investigations are presently underway to ascertain the identity of the perpetrator.”
