West Yorkshire detectives are making an appeal to locate two brothers with connections to Manchester who are wanted in connection with a violent attack on a man at a nightclub in Huddersfield.
The authorities at Kirklees CID are urging anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has any information about the whereabouts of Mitan Ibrahim aged 21 or Nechirvan Ibrahim aged 32 to come forward and contact them. The investigation is ongoing into the assault that occurred at Cleopatra’s Lounge in the previous year.
The two suspects from Huddersfield are believed to have been present in the Salford area and are wanted for their involvement in the incident at the club on May 22, 2022. During this incident, a man was viciously assaulted with a bladed weapon, leading to severe injuries that required extensive hospital treatment.
The attack occurred between 5.40 and 5.45 am when the 22-year-old male victim was approached outside the venue by one of the male suspects, who brandished a bladed weapon. The victim sought refuge inside the club, but the assailant pursued him, joined by other males. The ensuing attack resulted in serious injuries to the victim’s head and hands. The suspects fled the scene in two cars after the assault.
One individual, a 37-year-old man, was previously arrested in connection with the incident and is currently under investigation while on release. However, the police are still seeking the two brothers, Mitan and Nechirvan Ibrahim, for further questioning and to address their alleged involvement in the armed assault.
Detective Inspector Dennise Bell of West Yorkshire Police said: “Extensive enquiries have continued into an attack on a man in Cleopatra’s last year which left him with long-lasting injures.
“This attack could have easily resulted in an even more serious outcome and it is clearly very important those who carried it out are brought to justice.
“As part of our enquiries, we are renewing our appeal to locate Mitan Ibrahim and Nechirvan Ibrahim who are wanted in connection with this assault.
“We do believe they have been spending time in the Salford area and would ask anyone there, in wider Manchester or in West Yorkshire who has seen them to contact Kirklees CID at West Yorkshire Police.
“Information or sightings of the men can be reported via 999 or online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat referencing crime number 13220275563
“Residents can also make reports via the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
