Three young men have been convicted for their involvement in the tragic death of a Huddersfield father, whom they attacked in his residence.
The accused individuals are Amaan Ansar and Sahil Ansar, both 19 years old, residing on Springdale Avenue, and Wahaab Saif, also 19 years old, from Crosland Moor.
Their sentencing is scheduled for October 27th after a trial held at Leeds Crown Court found them guilty of the murder of Mr. Khalfan Seif, aged 33.
Following a jury’s decision on August 2nd, Amaan and Sahil Ansar were found guilty of murder, while today, August 3rd, a guilty verdict was returned for manslaughter against Wahaab Saif.
The unfortunate incident occurred on January 14 of this year when the trio attacked Mr. Seif in his home on Springdale Avenue, attempting to rob him. Tragically, Mr. Seif succumbed to a serious stab injury and passed away the following day in the hospital. His wife and children were present in the house at the time of the attack.
Furthermore, Amaan Ansar was also found guilty of robbing Mr. Seif’s wife during the incident.
DCI Damian Roebuck of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who led the investigation, said: “We welcome the guilty verdicts of the jury following the trial which has understandably been a difficult experience for Khalfan’s family.
“I want to commend them for the bravery and dignity they have shown throughout proceedings.
“We now await the sentencing of these males on October 27.”
