Features Sam Heughan (known for Outlander and Suspect), Eleanor Tomlinson (renowned for The Outlaws and Poldark), Jessica De Gouw (recognised from Pennyworth and Our Man from Jersey), and Alfred Enoch (noted for Tigers and How To Get Away with Murder), the initial glimpses have been unveiled for The Couple Next Door, set to arrive this Autumn for streaming and live viewing on Channel 4.

Crafted by Eagle Eye Drama (acknowledged for Suspect, Professor T, Before We Die), The Couple Next Door is a tantalizingly dark psychological drama that delves into the suffocating confines of suburban life and the repercussions of pursuing one’s innermost desires. Guided by director Dries Vos (also tied to Suspect and Professor T) and penned by David Allison (known for Bedlam and Marcella), this six-part series proves to be an all-consuming emotional roller coaster, exploring how the secrets concealed behind closed doors can forever alter lives.

Upon their entrance into an upscale neighbourhood, Evie (Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) find themselves submerged in a realm of nosy curtain-twitching and status-related unease. However, solace emerges in the form of the neighbouring couple: alpha traffic officer Danny (Sam Heughan) and his elegant wife, Becka (Jessica De Gouw), a yoga instructor. The connections between these two pairs deepen over time, eventually leading to a fateful night of entanglement that will irrevocably reshape their existences.

The Couple Next Door is primed to debut on UK’s Channel 4, while it will also be accessible on STARZ in the US and Canada, along with Lionsgate+, their premium international streaming platform in Latin America, encompassing Brazil.

Serving as executive producers are Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, and Alison Kee, with Jen Burnet taking on the role of producer. Rebecca Holdsworth, Drama Commissioning Editor, greenlit the series for Channel 4. Meanwhile, the oversight of The Couple Next Door for STARZ falls under the purview of Karen Bailey, EVP of Programming.

The series was captured on film earlier this year across locations in Leeds and Belgium, with precise broadcasting details set to be disclosed in due course.

International distribution of the series will be handled by Beta Film.
