In Bradford Cricket League Division Three, the top three teams secured victories, intensifying the promotion race despite the challenging weather conditions.
Scholes, the league leaders, demonstrated their dominance by bowling out Windhill & Daisy Hill for a mere 51 runs, eventually achieving a five-wicket victory. Josh Fell (3-1) and Reece Drake (3-11) were instrumental in their superb bowling performance. Windhill & Daisy Hill’s Aarya Jadhav tried to resist with his 3-23, but it was not enough to prevent Scholes from securing the win.
Great Preston bounced back with a convincing 76-run triumph over Spen Victoria. James Conlon (6-25) and Chris Aplin (4-58) capitalised on favorable conditions, causing Spen Victoria to crumble for 83 in response to Great Preston’s 159. Skipper Oli Baron (53) played a crucial role in guiding the team to victory, while David Charles (5-43) and Mohammad Hassan (3-37) posed the main bowling threat for Spen Victoria.
Altofts enjoyed a comfortable 105-run win against Gildersome & Farnley Hill. Altofts posted an impressive total of 277 and then efficiently dismissed their opponents for 122.
Unfortunately, the matches between Crossbank Methodists and East Leeds, as well as Wakefield St Michael’s and Brighouse, were abandoned due to inclement weather, without a ball being bowled.
