A man has received a suspended sentence for allegedly issuing a false bomb threat that led to the temporary closure of Leeds United’s stadium.

In March, the security threat, posted on social media, prompted Leeds to evacuate their staff and shut down Elland Road as a precautionary measure.

Koli Boci, 21 years old, pleaded guilty to transmitting fabricated information in Leeds Crown Court.

He has been given an 18-month suspended sentence, during which he must complete 200 hours of community service.

Boci’s arrest took place on March 24 after West Yorkshire Police responded to reports concerning a security threat directed at the premises.
