Police are conducting an investigation into a grave incident involving multiple vehicles in the Fenay Bridge vicinity of Huddersfield, which took place on the evening of Friday. A man has been formally accused of several offences as a result of this incident.
The individual in question is Josh Boyle, aged 20, residing at Blagden Lane in Huddersfield. He has been charged with the following offences: aggravated vehicle theft, causing severe injury through reckless driving, driving while disqualified, failing to comply with procedures related to drunk driving, and evading police apprehension.
Mr. Boyle has been detained and is scheduled to make an appearance at the Leeds Magistrates’ Court on the morning of the 14th of August.
This development follows a road traffic collision that occurred on Penistone Road at 8:50 pm on the 11th of August, Friday.
Sergeant Cameron Buchan of the Western Roads Policing Unit said; “This was an extremely serious collision and it’s very fortunate that the consequences were not even worse.
“We are continuing to appeal for information and CCTV or dash cam footage regarding the road traffic collision.
“We now believe the passenger in the VW Golf ran off from Police, and are keen to locate the passenger as they may have received serious injuries, we need to check that they are safe and well.
“I would like to thank to the local community of Fenay Bridge and the people that were in the local bar and restaurant who helped emergency services in the aftermath of the collision. We are very grateful for the support.”
