Police are making a plea to individuals who might have witnessed an incident of serious assault in the heart of Dewsbury.
The Kirklees Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is seeking the cooperation of anyone who observed or possesses relevant information concerning the assault that occurred within the Dewsbury open market square, situated off Whitehall Way. The incident took place at approximately 4:46 pm on Tuesday, August 8.
Authorities have been actively pursuing leads related to this occurrence, where a male victim was subjected to a severe assault perpetrated by a group of around four to five males. Prior to the assault, one of the assailants also took belongings from the victim.
In the aftermath of the incident, the victim was transported to a medical facility to receive treatment for injuries sustained to his head and hands, fortunately not life-threatening.
