Interior design expert Banjo Beale is once again embarking on a journey across the road and ferry routes, as filming commences for the second season of “Designing The Hebrides.” This new series will showcase his unique makeovers against the backdrop of breathtaking Scottish locations. A collaborative effort between BBC Scotland and BBC Two, the upcoming series, consisting of six episodes, each lasting 30 minutes, is being produced by DSP Production, a subsidiary of Banijay UK.

Building on the triumph of its inaugural season earlier this year, the second instalment of the show follows Banjo’s visits to some of Scotland’s most splendid Hebridean destinations, including the enchanting Isle of Easdale, the picturesque Isle of Harris, the serene South Uist, and, naturally, Banjo’s very own home island, Mull.

Once again, Banjo unites with his team of skilled tradespeople as they traverse the Scottish isles, employing their craftsmanship, vigour, and inventiveness to bring his Hebridean design visions to fruition. “Designing the Hebrides” is scheduled to be broadcast on BBC Scotland, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer in 2024.

Banjo is delighted to be back on his island interior adventures: “I was genuinely blown away by the response to the first series of Designing The Hebrides. This new series will be even more wild as I hit the road with my motley crew of tradespeople and the breakout star of the show… Grampa the dog.

“Designing the Hebrides takes a resourceful approach to renovating, rummaging for materials and weaving a little bit of magic to deliver designs that don’t cost the earth. Once again I’ll be up against it with wild weather and logistical headaches, amidst a backdrop of stunning scenery and straight-talking islanders. It’s going to be my biggest adventure yet!

“The Hebrides and our beautiful island community of Mull captured people’s hearts and it really helped to make this more than a makeover show. It’s a real honour to share our patch of paradise with the world. Main Street, Tobermory will be buzzing with the news the series is back!”

Weekly, Banjo and his design squad embrace a distinct interior design project, fulfilling the client’s directives within a limited budget and tight schedule. Amidst the challenges of remote locales and extreme conditions, set against the splendid panoramas of Scotland, “Designing The Hebrides” showcases distinctive transformations, encapsulating Banjo’s unstoppable enthusiasm, inventiveness, and design finesse.

“Designing The Hebrides” is a production of DSP (a Banijay UK company), commissioned by Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning at BBC Scotland, and Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning for Factual Entertainment and Events.
