Police in Wakefield are requesting assistance from the public to gather information about a deeply unfortunate incident in which a motorbike rider lost their life after a collision. The appeal for information comes from the Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET).
The MCET is urging individuals who may have witnessed a collision on Thornes Road on Monday, August 28, that led to the tragic demise of a young man hailing from Dewsbury, who was in his twenties. The incident took place at 2:04 pm when the rider, operating a Yamaha MT09 motorcycle, collided with a telegraph post while on Thornes Road, heading towards Denby Dale Road.
Despite receiving medical attention, the man was regrettably pronounced deceased at the location.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of MCET, said: “We are continuing to investigate this tragic incident in which the rider appears to have lost control and come off his machine.
“Specially trained officers are supporting his family and we would like to speak to anyone who can assist our enquiries.
