The forthcoming Monday Fellowship gatherings have an exciting lineup of diverse topics and events to round off this year’s programme. Held at the Bradford Cathedral de Lacy Centre every second Monday of the month, these gatherings offer an array of stimulating talks and engaging social activities. Attendees can also enjoy refreshments and social interactions after each monthly talk.

As we venture into the second half of the year, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming talks and events:

On Monday, August 14th, we will have a delightful Summer Fellowship featuring a Cream Tea at the Deanery.

On Monday, September 11th, the focus will be on the fascinating life of Abraham Sharp (1653-1742), a renowned astronomer and mathematician hailing from Bradford. His memorial lies in the Bradford Cathedral. Maggie Myers will be the speaker for this enlightening session.

Monday, October 9th, will showcase Mary White’s captivating narrative on a Brontë Love Story.

The talk scheduled for Monday, November 13th, is yet to be announced, promising another exciting addition to the lineup.

Lastly, Monday, December 11th, will be a heartwarming Christmas Fellowship, featuring Carols, stories, poems, delicious food, and a warm sense of fellowship to celebrate the festive season.

This year has already seen engaging talks on various subjects, such as fostering, leading musical worship at the Lambeth Conference, birds, and holy disorders. The most recent talks covered the life and achievements of Bradford’s Nobel Prize winner, Sir Edward Appleton, presented by Diane Excell, as well as the Revd Canon Ned Lunn sharing his experiences of intertwining arts and faith. Such diverse and thought-provoking topics have made the Monday Fellowship a truly enriching experience for all attendees.

Maggie Myers, who is Director of Education and Visitors at Bradford Cathedral, says; “Everybody is most welcome to our monthly Monday Fellowship, whether you wish to be a regular participant or just join the meetings from time to time or as a one-off, when the subject interests you.”
