Adam Thomas, a well-known actor and TV presenter, has been officially announced as the eighth celebrity participant for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. The renowned entertainment program, produced by BBC Studios, is set to make its return to both BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this autumn. The show is eagerly anticipated to once again bring a spectacular blend of glitter, glamour, and impressive dance performances to households across the country.

Adam Thomas has gained recognition primarily for his portrayal of Adam Barton in the popular ITV soap opera Emmerdale. His remarkable performance earned him the prestigious TV Choice award for Best Soap Newcomer. Notably, he reprised his role as Donte Charles in BBC One’s Waterloo Road, having been an original member of the show’s cast.

In 2016, he caught the public’s attention as a participant on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Following this adventure, he even took on the role of co-host for the spin-off program I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

In 2020, Adam joined forces with his siblings Ryan and Scott for a captivating six-episode travel series on ITV, titled Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai. The series followed their journey to Mumbai to explore their family’s heritage and reconnect with long-lost relatives. This heartfelt exploration also marked their first visit to the country of their ancestry. Additionally, he engages in hosting the popular podcast series “Mancs on the Mic,” alongside his brothers.

Adam Thomas says: “I am so excited to be joining the cast of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve been such a big fan of the show for years, I can’t believe I’m actually doing it! I can’t dance to save my life but I’m buzzing to learn and have a good laugh with my pro. Get me on that dance floor… I can’t wait!”

The exciting announcement took place on August 8, as it was unveiled on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, James & Matt.
