In an exciting announcement, Shereen Cutkelvin has been unveiled as the new co-presenter of the popular live entertainment show Saturday Mash-Up! alongside long-standing hosts Joe Tasker and resident monster Stanley. The brand-new series is set to return to CBBC on Saturday, 8 July, promising more fun-filled mayhem, celebrity guests, hilarious games, the best cartoons, and, of course, plenty of slime!

Shereen, who currently co-hosts the BBC Introducing in Scotland radio show, has an impressive portfolio of presenting experience. She has previously lent her talents to BBC Radio 1’s Early Breakfast and CBBC’s music magazine show Love, Love, Love. Hailing from Lanark, Shereen is not only a presenter but also an accomplished actress and singer/songwriter, having made it to the X-Factor semi-finals in 2017.

Expressing her excitement about joining the Saturday Mash-Up! team, Shereen said, “I am thrilled to be joining Joe and Stanley to present Saturday Mash-Up! We have such a laugh together and can’t wait to get going. Even the 4am alarm call will be worth it because we’re going to have so much fun!”

Sarah Muller, the Senior Head of BBC Children’s Commissioning 7+, praised Shereen’s talent and rapport with young viewers, stating, “Over the last year, Shereen wowed us as the voice-over artist for Saturday Mash-Up! and we asked her to step up as co-presenter because she is just fantastic alongside Joe Tasker and Stanley. She’s loved by the audience, works brilliantly with kids, and is full of fun and energy, which is perfect for Saturday mornings!”

Saturday Mash-Up! holds the distinction of being the UK’s only live Saturday morning kids show, carrying on the rich tradition of iconic BBC programs like Live and Kicking, Fully Booked, and Multi-Coloured Swap Shop. The upcoming series promises to bring new features, competitions, and prizes to captivate its audience. Additionally, the team will be broadcasting from the roof of Glasgow’s BBC Pacific Quay Studios, featuring summer games and music performances. Viewers at home will have the opportunity to interact with the show and engage with the hosts via the CBBC website.

Furthermore, Joe and Shereen will embark on an exciting journey across Scotland, taking on peculiar and extraordinary challenges involving members of the public. In the first episode of the series on Saturday, 8 July, Stanley will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Wimbledon.

Saturday Mash-Up! LIVE is a BBC Studios Kids & Family production and will be aired live on CBBC and BBC iPlayer, starting from 9 am on Saturday, 8 July. Be sure to tune in for a morning of entertainment, laughter, and surprises.
