Kirklees Council’s registration team will be relocating from Huddersfield Town Hall to Civic Centre 1 in Huddersfield town centre. The relocation process is set to take place from Wednesday, 19 July, until Tuesday, 25 July. During this transition period, certain services will experience a temporary pause; however, the team assures citizens that essential operations will continue with minimal disruption.

Notably, the team will remain operational during the relocation, continuing to take calls and honouring existing appointments. However, there will be specific adjustments to some services during the moving period.

Important Dates and Service Adjustments:

Wednesday, 19 July – Tuesday, 25 July: The team will not accept orders for priority certificates during this time. However, orders for standard certificates with a maximum publication time of 15 days will still be processed.

Monday, 24 July: Services will be offered from Huddersfield Town Hall until 12 pm, but will be limited to death appointments and weddings scheduled for the day. The team will still be available to take calls.

Tuesday, 25 July: Starting from 10.30 am, all appointments (excluding ceremonies) such as those for births, deaths, and notice of marriages, will be conducted at Civic Centre 1, located on Albion Street, Huddersfield, HD1 2NG.

Ceremonies including weddings, civil partnerships, citizenships, renewal of vows, and baby naming, will continue to be held at Huddersfield Town Hall.

The Council would like to emphasise that there will be no changes to the registration service at Dewsbury Town Hall during this period.

Council officials have expressed gratitude for the community’s understanding and cooperation during this relocation process. They are confident that this move will lead to an improved overall experience for all users of their services.
